John Vervaeke, Ph.D., is an award-winning professor at the University of Toronto, where he teaches in the departments of psychology, cognitive science, and Buddhist psychology. His courses cover a variety of topics, including thinking and reasoning, cognitive development, intelligence, rationality, mindfulness, and the psychology of wisdom. He also directs the Cognitive Science program and the Consciousness and Wisdom Studies Laboratory. Vervaeke has taught courses that integrate Buddhism and cognitive science and has been recognized with several teaching awards. He has authored numerous articles and a book titled Zombies in Western Culture: A 21st Century Crisis, which addresses the meaning crisis in Western society. Additionally, he presents a YouTube series called "Awakening from the Meaning Crisis" and is preparing to publish a book under the same title.
